Athletic Career: A graduate of Fountain Valley HS in 1994, Yanagisawa won the CIF Championship in 1994, earning All-CIF, All-County, and All-Sunset League award honors. After playing two years at Orange Coast College (All-League 1996), Deric played two years at Hawaii Pacific University in Oahu where he was selected 1st Team All League in 1997 and 1999.
